The Chinese government voiced its opposition to the recent limited trade deal signed pursuant to the U.S.-Taiwan Initiative on 21st Century Trade, calling it a "violat[ion of] the one-China principle" and "a US tool to rip Taiwan off." Some Taiwanese politicians and groups also expressed their concerns with the deal.
