China and Singapore Upgrade FTA with Focus on Services and Investment

China and Singapore signed the protocol to upgrade the China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (CSFTA), wrapping up a three-year negotiation after seven rounds of talks. It adopts a negative list approach, removes foreign equity caps for 22 services sectors in China, and prohibits local content and tech transfer requirements in the investment chapter.
