One important element of the recent tariffs imposed by President Trump under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) was to eliminate the exemption for de minimis shipments (items in amounts of $800 or less), which will have a significant impact on certain retailers who sell products from China directly to consumers.
