In a case that pitted free speech advocates against security hawks, a U.S. appeals court sided with the U.S. government in a challenge by TikTok, Bytedance and other groups against a U.S. statute that tries to force the divestment of TikTok from its Chinese parent company, with the app to be banned in the U.S. if no sale takes place.
