U.S. House Committee Examines Export Controls, Focusing on China
Recently, the Subcommittee on Oversight & Accountability of the House Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing on "U.S. Export Controls in an Era of Strategic Competition." The Subcommittee was examining the implementation and enforcement of U.S. export controls "as part of the Committee's 90 day review of the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security or BIS."
These hearings are often very politicized, with Republicans and Democrats offering very different views, not surprisingly, of the performance of the Biden administration, and also adopting different levels of aggressiveness towards China.
