WTO Meeting Discusses CVDs, Chinese Subsidy Concerns, U.S. IRA, CHIPS Act

At the October 27 meeting of the WTO's Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, for which the minutes were recently circulated, there were criticisms by China of other Members' countervailing duty practices (including the recent EU action on electric vehicles), and criticisms by other Member of China's countervailing duty practices; a number of systemic issues were raised by other WTO Members relating to China's subsidy practices; and China reiterated concerns with with the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the CHIPS Act.
