WTO Panel Rules for Hong Kong in Complaint Against U.S. "Origin Marking" Rules

In a ruling circulated yesterday, a WTO panel sided with Hong Kong in a complaint filed against the United States in October of 2020, finding that U.S. requirements that products from Hong Kong be labelled as originating in China were inconsistent with the GATT and could not be justified under the security exception.
